Caring & Learning Together Education Program

Caring and Learning Together is a mental health education program for family caregivers and community health workers sponsored by the Geropsychiatric Education Program (GPEP).  We have included a brief course description, and useful links and resources for family caregivers and community health workers.

Course Description

• 12-hour course on dementia, depression, delirium, assessing behaviour using the GPEP Model, and communicating with clients/family members who have dementia
• Designed for community health workers and family caregivers
• Offered at a variety of sites in the Vancouver Coastal Health Region

Family Caregivers: You may register on-line at ccrs.vch.ca or through your Vancouver Coastal Health case manager. Choose "Public" when you are asked for your work location.

HSWs from agencies funded by Vancouver Coastal Health: please register through your manager.

Private Home Support Workers: Depending on space availability, you may register on-line at ccrs.vch.ca or with your manager for a fee of $50. Once on-line, choose "Other" when asked for your work location.
